A Call to Leadership in PAMHCA

PAMHCA is always seeking dedicated board members, committee members and chairs to join the PAMHCA team.

Current Vacancies: Secretary & Member-at-large

Do you…?

  • Support PAMHCA’s mission to enhance the profession of mental health counseling?
  • Believe in the power and importance of advocacy, licensure, education and professional development?
  • Want just the right opportunity to commit yourself more fully to your profession and professional career?
  • Find a leadership opportunity that is professionally and personally rewarding?

If so, PAMHCA has a role for you – in leadership.

As a PAMHCA leader, you will learn about…

  • PAMHCA’s history and mission
  • You will have the opportunity to represent PAMHCA at meetings of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) and the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and serve as PAMHCA’s voice in those settings.
  • You will visit colleges and universities to speak with Graduate Students about PAMHCA and its services.
  • You will interact and meet with educators, practitioners and students, and with the leadership of other mental health organizations from across Pennsylvania.
  • You will gain valuable information, contacts, perspective and have FUN

All this, while you support the only organization dedicated exclusively to mental health counselors in Pennsylvania.

Check out the nomination form for details or contact Nominations and Elections Committee Chair. This could be the time.

Jack Flynn, former President, comments on his PAMHCA leadership role…Recently I saw a billboard for the US Marines that said, “A commitment to something greater than themselves” and I thought  that this is the reason why any of us volunteers to make the world a better place because of our being here. It is probably why any of us has entered the counseling profession.

Being a part of PAMHCA leadership gives me the opportunity to work with and encourage other mental health counselors in the healing and hope-giving work that we do, often unseen and under-appreciated, but nonetheless essential not only for our clients but also for their families, friends and community. Consider volunteering for one of the leadership offices in PAMHCA and help make a difference for other mental health counselors in Pennsylvania. I am convinced that my work with PAMHCA has contributed to my professional growth and personal commitment to a cause greater than myself.
